First major climb and my mother mountain!!! Since it's my first major climb I prepared myself by being active in the gym, participating in fun runs and trail runs, anything that will help me be physically, and mentally fit to climb. To make my story short, we were always the last group to reached campsites and summit since day 1. We’re just keeping our chill pace so no friend gets left behind. It’s really a battle of your physical and mental health during the trek, every assault, and downhill. Huwag kayong maniwala sa ‘5 mins. na lang’, ‘malapit na tayo’ dahil malayo pa ang campsite o summit. We experienced drinking water from river/streams (na medyo kulay brown pa siya). Yes, hindi po sumakit mga tiyan namin ibig sahibin nun ang titibay ng mga sikmura namin. First time to experience seeing our breath fog in cold weather. Seen and talked to people who did a day hike. Ang lalakas niyo! And ho and behold, I achieved it! Pero hanggang mother's peak lang kinaya namin. Babalikan kita, Digos and Kidapawan peak! It really humbled us! Really amazed how my mind just shut off and connected with the nature. Since then, I’m always game to conquer summit on my list. Kudos to people who discovered this kind of hobby earlier. Definitely, will come back! Hands down to every porter and organizers who chose this kind of job! We appreciate you, sirs!!! Salute!
